GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION AND SOJAG’s ROLE IN ACHIEVING SDGs

Bangladesh is facing massive challenge to meet up the demand of her ever- increasing population. NGOs in Bangladesh is continuing to play the role of catalyst in the attainment of sustainable economic growth and development. In achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) an endurable, warm and dependable relationship exists between the Government and NGOs where both are working for the benefit of the people with numerable activities. Their main tasks are to organize these people, create awareness in them and make them development oriented. Organizations like SOJAG is working based on the assessed need and demand of the grass root level farmers and women. By involving the beneficiaries directly, they are working within the context of overall national planning for development.

Effective partnerships between government and non-government organizations (GO-NGO) built on trust, mutual respect and support will help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh. Go-NGO partnership will also help reach out to vulnerable groups and serve as a platform for sharing resources and knowledge. SOJAG has been able to obtain a sustainable development partnership with various Government and other agencies involved in for the welfare and betterment of the people in its area of operation.

SOJAG is providing services to society through welfare works for community development, assistance in national disasters, sustainable system development through its various programs in agriculture, livestock and microcredit. SOJAG is working on poverty eradication by directly involving the poverty-stricken population. It’s target groups are basically the poor and vulnerable ones with hardly any possessions. Thus, SOJAG’s main tasks are to organize these people, create awareness in them and make them development oriented. Our organization is working based on the assessed need and demand of the grass root level farmers and women. By involving the beneficiaries directly, SOJAG is working within the context of overall national planning for development.
